He married Rose Marie NELSON ca. 1949. (Rose Marie NELSON is #12607.) Rose was born 16 FEB 1929 in Memphis, TN. Rose was the daughter of William Thomas NELSON and Mildred Mary BRUNNER. Rose died 7 JUL 2018 in AL, at age 89. Funeral Mass for Rose Marie “Rosie” Nelson Brown will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 625 Airport Road Huntsville, Alabama on July 10th at 10:00 am with the Rev. Michael Mac Mahon Officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour before mass at Holy Spirit. A private burial service for the family will be later. Mrs. Brown passed away on July 7th, 2018. She was born on February 16, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee and is the daughter of William Thomas Nelson and Mildred Mary Brunner Nelson. Mrs. Brown was a devoted wife to her husband of 54 years, James E. Brown Jr., who passed away in 2003. She was a devoted mother and is survived by her eight children. Susan Brown Lowery (Dennis) of Mobile, Alabama, Rose Ann Brown Paschmeyer (Michael) of Bremen, Germany, Nancy Brown McKee of Franklin, Tennessee, Sandra Brown Whitaker (Don) of Arab, Alabama, James “Jimmy” E. Brown III of Senatobia, Mississippi, Michael A. Brown (Jane) of Huntsville, Alabama, Teresa Brown, Thomas H. Brown (Debra) of Henderson, Nevada. Mrs. Brown was pre-deceased by her husband of three years, Allen Tolley of Huntsville, Alabama. She is also survived by her two sisters, Doris Nelson DeSantis and Alice Nelson Thornton of Memphis, Tennessee. Rosie was a devoted Grammy to her nineteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She also has numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. The Mass of Christian Burial for James Everett Brown Jr. of Decatur will be at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church, 3910 Spring Ave. S.W., Decatur, on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael MacMahon officiating. Rite of Committal and burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

The Vigil with Rosary will be held at 7 tonight at Roselawn Funeral Home, followed by visitation.

Mr. Brown, 76, passed away on Monday, Dec. 1, 2003. He was born Nov. 11, 1927, in Memphis, the son of James Everett Brown Sr. and Lenora Mary Ford Brown. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He attended Christian Brothers College in Memphis and obtained a B.S. degree in engineering from the University of Detroit and a master's degree from the University of Tennessee. He was employed at the Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal until 1985. He was then employed by Colsa until he retired.

For 42 years, Mr. Brown was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church and was a longstanding member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a past president of the Advocacy Group for Terrell Industries in Hartselle.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rose Marie Nelson Brown, and by their eight children. Sons are Thomas H. Brown and wife Debra of Birmingham, Michael A. Brown and wife Jane of Huntsville and James E. "Jimmy" Brown III of Senatobia, Miss. Daughters are Teresa Brown Hartz and husband Calvin of Columbia, Tenn., Sandra Brown Whitaker and husband Don of Arab, Nancy Brown McKee and husband Robert of Huntsville, Rose Ann Brown Paschmeyer and husband Michael of Bremen, Germany and Susan Brown Dudeck and husband Kevin of Mobile.

He is also survived by one brother, William Lee Brown of Lake Cormorant, Miss., and by one sister, Betty Jean Nelson and husband William R. Nelson of Germantown, Tenn. Mr. Brown had 23 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Joseph C. Brown, Rocky L. Collins, Matthew T. Odle, David R. Odle, John D. Whitaker, Cory R. McKee, Daniel J. Paschmeyer and Kevin J. Dudeck.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus of Decatur.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church Building Fund.
