Betty Jean Nelson, 82, Memphis was born August 7, 1932 and entered into eternal rest October 27, 2014 at her residence. Ms. Nelson was was well known with her years of service to the Commercial Appeal and St. Paul's Catholic Church. She is survived by her children Mary Beth McNeal (Rand E.), Cindy Granger (Bill), Bill Nelson, Kathy Carter, Harold Nelson (Suzette), David Nelson(Janice), a daughter-in-law, Paula, along with 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her parents, her husband William R. Nelson, one son Joseph Lee and grandson, Andy, all precede her in death. The family will receive their friends from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, Friday October 31, 2014 at Church of the Holy Spirit, 2300 Hickory Crest Drive, Memphis, TN, with a funeral mass following at 10:30 am at the church building. Interment will follow at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
